Can a Sydney business remove a negative Google review?
Only where the review breaches Google’s content policies or another valid removal pathway applies. A genuine customer who describes a real experience is entitled to say so, even when it hurts. What can be reported is content that is fabricated, abusive, promotional, off-topic or posted by someone with a conflict of interest.
What happens if the reviewer is not in our records?
Search your bookings, invoices, CRM and enquiry records for the dates described and document the result, including screenshots of the searches. An unidentifiable reviewer is not an automatic removal ground, but a documented search supports a fake engagement argument when the review claims a customer experience.
Can a competitor’s fake review be reported?
Yes, as a conflict of interest — but evidence matters more than suspicion. Useful material includes the reviewer’s public profile, links to a competing Sydney business, a review history covering only your category, timing around a tender or price change, and your own records showing no customer relationship.
Can a genuine customer review be removed?
Usually not. It may still warrant assessment if it contains prohibited content — threats, harassment, someone’s private details, impersonation, spam, or claims unrelated to the service they actually received.
How long can the process take?
There is no published or guaranteed Google timeframe. Some reports are decided quickly, others take weeks or need follow-up. After assessment we give a realistic written view for your matter, but nobody can promise a decision date.
Do Sydney businesses pay upfront?
No. The initial assessment is free. If the matter looks suitable for further action, you receive a fixed written price before work begins, and for eligible removal cases the removal fee is only charged if the content is removed.
Can Evelon Digital guarantee removal?
No. We can assess the review, identify possible policy breaches, organise evidence and prepare an accurate report. Google decides, and it can refuse even a carefully prepared report.
What evidence should we provide?
The direct review URL, screenshots, the reviewer’s displayed name, the date it appeared, CRM or booking searches, invoices where relevant, related emails or messages, and anything showing competitor involvement, impersonation, threats or harassment.
Can Evelon assist businesses outside Sydney?
Yes. We assist businesses across regional New South Wales and Australia-wide, and each location page covers the local picture. The assessment process is identical wherever you trade.
What happens if Google does not remove the review?
We read the response, check whether any stronger policy basis exists, and tell you plainly if there is none. Under the written result terms for eligible removal cases, the removal fee is not charged when the content stays up.
