Reinstated Google Review Assistance
It is upsetting to see a review you thought was gone reappear on your profile. Reviews can be reinstated after the reviewer appeals, after Google re-checks a decision, or when a temporary filter is lifted. Evelon Digital explains what may have happened, and assesses whether a further, better-documented report is justified. We are always honest that no removal is guaranteed to be permanent.

Why reviews come back
Google sometimes hides reviews temporarily while they are checked, then restores them. A reviewer may appeal a removal and succeed. A review removed under one policy can be reassessed. Occasionally a reviewer posts the same content again from a new account, which looks like a reinstatement but is actually a new review.
Common situations
- A review disappears for a few days and then returns unchanged.
- A review removed after a report reappears weeks or months later.
- The same wording appears under a different name after the original was removed.
- A review returns after being edited by the reviewer.
Possible policy concerns
A reinstated review is judged on the same policies as before. If the original report was thin, a fuller report may succeed. If the reviewer reposted from a new account, that repetition may itself raise spam or fake engagement concerns.
Evidence that may be useful
- Screenshots of the original review and the reinstated version, with dates.
- Any confirmation you received that the review had been removed.
- Copies of the original report or correspondence, if available.
- Evidence of a new account posting the same content.
How we handle reinstated reviews
We compare the original report with the current review and work out whether there is a stronger basis for reporting. Sometimes there isn't, and we will tell you. Where there is, we prepare a clear report that addresses why the review should not stand.
New and older reinstated reviews
When selecting the review age on the form, use the original posting date shown on Google. Reviews under 28 days old and reviews 28 days old or more can both be assessed.
Several reviews that returned
If several removed reviews came back at the same time, there may be a common cause. Tell us how many there are and we will assess them together.
Other negative Google reviews we handle
Each review is assessed on its own content and evidence. A possible policy breach does not guarantee removal — Google makes the final decision.
- Fake and fabricated reviews
Reviews describing a visit, purchase or job that never happened.
- Unfair one-star reviews
Low ratings with no text, or a rating that doesn't match the experience described.
- Competitor reviews
Ratings that appear to come from a rival business or people connected to one.
- Former employee and contractor reviews
Reviews about employment, pay or a contract dispute rather than a customer experience.
- Conflict of interest reviews
Reviews from people with a personal or commercial stake in harming the business.
- Reviews from unidentified customers
Reviewers you cannot match to any booking, invoice or record.
- Abusive or threatening reviews
Harassment, slurs, threats or personal attacks on named staff.
- False and misleading allegations
Claims of illegality, fraud or unsafe practice that records contradict.
- Personal or commercial dispute reviews
Reviews posted as leverage in a dispute, debt or falling-out.

Links, advertising, repeated text or content unrelated to a real experience.
- Duplicate and coordinated reviews
Clusters of similar reviews posted in a short window, often from new accounts.
- Off-topic reviews
Commentary about politics, news, another business or anything but the experience.
- Reviews posted against the wrong business
Mistaken identity between similarly named or neighbouring businesses.
- Old negative reviews
Reviews 28 days old or more that still affect enquiries today.
